DySlexia Therapy Dyslexia Tutor in United States

Where Students Experience Success!

Dyslexia Therapy and Intensive Reading Tutor across The United States (Virtual)

There is a shortage of qualified Orton-Gillingham-based dyslexia therapy / Structured Literacy tutoring for students with dyslexia and reading difficulties across The United States. Therefore, I’ve expanded my practice to include one-on-one virtual sessions across The United States.

Dyslexia Therapy and Intensive Reading Tutoring across The United States

I’m able to arrange one-on-one virtual dyslexia academic therapy or intensive Structured Literacy tutoring lessons for your child, which means that I am especially able to tailor instruction to individual needs. Virtual instruction can be highly successful in one-on-one settings with a highly trained instructor and if it is a good fit for the individual. Virtual settings are not a fit for everyone, but they are highly successful for many individuals. In fact, after COVID lockdowns, many clients chose to remain virtual or hybrid due continued progress! Virtual settings can pose challenges with large groups of students because it makes it difficult to tailor instruction to individual needs.

I offer the gold standard of effective instruction for students with language-based learning differences such as dyslexia, which is the Orton-Gillingham Approach.  The Orton-Gillingham approach falls under a Structured Literacy approach, which is multisensory, explicit, systematic, and cumulative. This approach breaks down language into manageable patterns and structures in a systematic manner. Literacy is taught in a way that is more accessible to the dyslexic learner and struggling readers.  I apply a diagnostic-prescriptive approach, which allows me to personalize instruction to target students’ areas of needed support and enhance their strengths.  I have more than 19 years of experience. I have Orton-Gillingham-based training from Neuhaus Education Center, am a Certified Academic Language Therapist (CALT), Reading Therapist, and am certified in Texas as a Special Education, General Education, and ESL Teacher.  Please see my about section to learn more about my experience.

Understanding Dyslexia as a Learning Disability / Difference

Dyslexia is not an uncommon learning difference.  It is estimated that about one in five people have dyslexia. Some characteristics of dyslexia can include difficulty with phonological awareness, reading words accurately and fluently, and poor spelling.  It can have secondary consequences such as difficulty understanding and acquiring vocabulary. Dyslexia is neurobiological in origin and is often unrelated to cognitive abilities.

Although dyslexia is lifelong since it is neurobiological in origin, it is often remediated if a child has the right tools, methods, and a highly-trained instructor to tutor him or her using academic therapy.

One Testimonial:

“Our family had the pleasure of meeting and working with Natalie when our daughter was in third grade. Our daughter,Maeve, still refers to her as her “favorite teacher ever.” Maeve has dyslexia, dysgraphia and dyscalculia. Natalie was not only educated about these learning differences she was able to teach Maeve using methods and techniques that allowed her to excel. Natalie is an energetic, caring and patient teacher that changed Maeve’s outlook on school.”
